Wet n Wild I Heart Matte Coloricon Palette: Review, Photos, Swatches

Wet n Wild has been on my radar for the last year or more. I have grown to really love their eyeshadow and lip products even if it means hunting them down like a wild woman. Well this time around, after going to a mere four Walgreen’s with no luck, I decided to reach out to some of my beauty buddies in areas that already had sightings of the Walgreen limited edition exclusive holiday palettes.  And my beauty buddies really came through for me.  Speaking of which the DMV really needs to step its game up in regard to the availability  of limited edition products. OK, Onto the good stuff. Wet n Wild has released a new Coloricon eight pan palette that is not only limited edition but, is exclusive to only Walgreen’s. Retailing for $4.99, this palette is cleverly named ,“I Heart Matte” (the “heart” is a symbol) because it offers eight matte eye shadows that give you the option to create bright or neutral looks. Now at first glance all the shadows included appear to be totally matte but, the blue and purple shades seem to have a very slight hint of shimmer/glitter thrown in. Also some of the shadows included in this palette are dupes for colors offered in other Wet n Wild palettes (more about that later).

Upon swatching these shadows, the first thing that came to mind was “wow, for drugstore matte shadows these are slightly powdery but have a nice silky feel and good color pay-off”. Oddly enough the two tougher shades to swatch were the blue and purple. They both swatched on the sheer /streaky side in my opinion. Nothing good primer and a little packing on can’t cure though.

F.Y.I. I hear that this palette will not be located with the normal Wet n Wild products. It will be located on an end cap display apart of Walgreen’s Beauty Bar. If you are a matte eyeshadow fanatic you will adore this palette but, beware if you are a Wet n Wild collector, you may have a few of these colors already. So be sure to check your stash before hunting down this palette. Example the reddish-brown color on the right side is definitely from the WnW “Vanity” palette. I like the convenience of this palette and think for the cost it wouldn’t hurt to add it to your collection even if you own some of these colors in other trios/palettes.

I haven’t seen these palettes available in my local DMV Walgreen’s yet but, I’ll keep looking and if you have seen or purchased them share the location in the comment section.  Special shout out to Nyoka & Nikki for picking & shipping these palettes up for me.
