Urban Decay “Naked” Palette: Review, Swatches, Photos

If there has ever been a product that I was so determined to not need. This Urban Decay “Naked” palette is it. I fought tooth and nail to not want and need this palette, so much so, that I was trying to convince my BBM divas they didn’t need it either. lol Sad Right? Well as you can see I defeated myself and ordered it as soon as I saw it was available online. What made me change my mind?  A couple things: 1.) The BBM divas, (arTiastry, Yummy411, Pumps & Gloss, Tried and Truth & Yaya) I love these enabling ladies they talked about how this would be the perfect wedding and everyday palette and 2.) Hustle eyeshadow, after seeing Makeup Geek use it in a youtube video, I was sold and had to have it.

By now you have read countless reviews and seen hundreds of swatches. Well I’m just going to add my one cent to that growing list of  Naked Palette owners. Retailing at $44.00 this palette offers 12 full size neutral and wearable shades. There are seven best-seller permanent shades (Gunmetal, Half Baked, Naked, Sidecar, Sin, Smog, and Toasted) and five new shades (Buck, Creep, Darkhorse, Hustle and Virgin).  Also included with this palette is a mini primer potion and a double-ended 24/7 eyeliner (zero/whiskey a new color).

Here is a list & description of each shadow included:

Virgin- satin chamois
Sin- champagne shimmer
Naked- matte buff nude
Sidecar- cocoa w/golden sparkle sheen
Buck- matte nutmeg
Half Baked- subtle, lustrous bronze
Smog- deep coppery bronze
Darkhorse- bronze patina
Toasted- rich pink copper
Hustle- plum brown satin
Creep- onyx w/gold sparkle
Gunmetal- gunmetal gray w/silver glitter

This palette is truly the best of both worlds. It can easily go from day to night. I love that there is a nice varitety of eyeshadow textures (Matte, shimmer, satin, and sparkle).  I also like the packaging layout. Please Urban Decay no more big & bulky packaging. I love the sleek, throw in my bag feel of this palette. My only drawback about the packaging is the velvet. I have a feeling its going to get dirty pretty quickly.  I also wish there were more new shadows. If  your a palette lover you probably already have a few of the permanents multiple times and that may be a deal breaker for some.

Overall, this palette is amazing and a true must-have. It will surely please and not disappoint. If you have been on the hunt for the perfect neutral palette. Look no further. Urban Decay Naked Palette  is available at Macy’s, Sephora, ULTA, and urbandecay.com

we are >here<. ive been avoiding this thing. like "who wants a bunch of neutrals?" i said this to my friend who ALWAYS opts for bolder color than me. she said something like "neutrals are good for when you wanna do an ignorant bold lip". she had a point. i own browns, bronzes, and golds so i was thinking i'd pass on this palette. hmm, not so much. after seeing reviews and swatches, i still want it. it's the only thing from urban decay i feel has really warranted my attention. didnt care too much for alice in wonderland since it was their regular palette stuff with different names. i thought that was lazy.

love your nail color in this post, btw.

I was smiling as I read your post. I also talked myself into not getting the palette. I mean I am trying to wear more bold colors, why would I need it? then that baby was getting sold out non stop and as soon as I saw it on the sephora website, I ordered it online. 2 hrs later, it was sold out again…
    Thank you for the swatches!!
    love the nail polish too

LOL I know exactly what you mean. I’m actually not going to pick this up b/c I feel like I have too many neutrals yet I’ll probably end up picking some nudes from another line.

I wasn’t going to get it either, until I saw it in use. I’ve probably got a few dupes laying about.. but for a palette with so many shadows, it’s ideal for travel and kit.

Don’t have it yet, but I will.. :D

While we’re on the subject of Urban Decay “Naked” Palette: Review, Swatches, Photos | Silver Lips Beauty, You may wish to ask your wedding photographer in the event you can buy or have a CD or DVD of the original photographs, or the original negatives if the photos had been taken on film. This will make it simpler for you to make additional prints within the future.
