OCC Nylon Lip Tar: Review, Photos, Swatches
In the September Issue of NYLON Magazine, NYLON crowned Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars, the “Best Lipstick” of 2012. And to celebrate, OCC has partnered with NYLON Magazine to introduce an extraordinary new neon pink, Pantone™-matched to the NYLON logo, aptly christened “NYLON”. As many of you already know OCC LIP TAR is liquefied lipstick. It combines the longevity of a lipstick with the ease of application of a gloss. Packed with highly emollient naturally derived ingredients including Hemp Oil, whose Omega-3 EFAs allow LIP TAR to go on slick and moist, but set to a satin-matte finish. Just the tiniest drop is needed to provide the fullest coverage possible while remaining featherweight light and ultra-longwearing.
OCC Nylon Lip Tar ($16.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) is described as a neon pink. This color is absolutely by far the brightest pink I own. It’s ridiculous (in a good way) how bright and bold this color is. The creamy bold pink has a blue base making it easier for most skin tones to pull off wearing this outrageously bright color.
After falling in love with MAC’s Candy Yum Yum, I personally thought there would never be a bolder, brighter pink offered and boy was I wrong. Pictures do this color no justice. It is bold, vibrant, bright and on some skin tones will require a lip-liner. This lip tar and all lip tars can be layered to intensify the color. These lip tars are long wearing, lasting about 7 hours on me and that’s even after eating a full meal and having several drinks. What I love most about these lip tars, is the fact that after about 5 hours of wear, these become beautiful semi-matte stains. Yes, they do stain the lips and skin, so beware. I like to add a hint of gloss after 5 hours to add a little glossy pop to my lips.
Lip Tars can be a hint tricky to work with. There are requirements needed when using/applying lip tars, 1.) A lip brush is mandatory (ne exceptions) , 2. Exfoliating the lips prior to application is mandatory( no exceptions, if your lips are not buttery smooth when applying these every imperfection will be seen) and lastly 3.) lip-liner(s) is needed to prevent the lip tar from feathering (while these do dry down super fast they do bleed a little without a lip liner).
I honestly think every living makeup lover needs this Lip Tar in particular. This product can go from day to-night, runway to streets and conservative to wild child. This new lip tar is limited edition and also exclusive to select Sephora stores and sephora.com. Grab your soon before it’s to late.
