MAC Venomous Villain: Review, Swatches, Photos
I know, I know I am the last blogger in the world to share, discuss and talk about MAC’s latest collection, Venomous Villains. But I just had to share my haul, etc with you all. On September 26th, MAC & Disney joined forces to bring us products that catered to the villains we were scare of as kids and the wicked little villains that live inside of us. Not sure how MAC & Disney narrowed the villains down to these four (Cruella De Vil, Evil Queen, Maleficent & Mr. Facilier) but, I sure wish they had included my all-time favorite villain (Ursula), did you see her lipstick and eye makeup in the movie? Any who, These four villains represent four different set of products introduce to us makeup fanatics.
Here’s what I picked up from this collection. To see a complete list of available products(if any are left), Click Here
Being totally honest with you all, I wasn’t overly enthused with this collection. Yes, I loved the collaboration with Disney but, I was expected something more. Not sure what more I wanted but, I was expecting to be blown away with newness. But I think I scored some of the coolest products that this collection had to offer.
Darkly My Dear, is described as a dirty plum brown but, on my NC50 skin it shows up as if it has a hint of pink thrown in . The blush is a great everyday color. As it isn’t overly bright but has just enough color to make your cheeks look lightly flushed.
Bite of an Apple, is described as soft coral pink, but this blush is far more than that. I initially didn’t want this blush as I thought it was going to be to bright for me but, it is such a gorgeous color that really makes your cheeks pop. And in this season who doesn’t want to look glowy and vibrant.
Toxic Tale, is a bright coral lipstick, this color is so pretty but, when worn alone it looks a total mess on me. lol I found that for this lipstick to look suitable on me I like pairing it with MAC or NYX current lipliner.
My Dark Magic, is described as a deep pink with pink pearl / deep plum with purple pearl. This mineralize eyeshadow reminds me a lot of the MES from the”Style Black” collection. However, I’m loving the formula on these much better. I’m glad MAC improved these and them made these less chunky and more silky even when applied dry all while keeping the glittery sparkle.
Bad Fairy, is a red with red multi-changing pearl, now this polish looks better in the bottle than on the fingers or toes. I like the mult-changing pearl formula but it is a bit thin and requires at least three coats to really pay off.
Mean & Green, is purple with teal multi-changing pearl, again I love the color of this polish but the formula is super thin and requires three coats to get the full effect of the multi-changing pearl.
Yup, I know what your thinking, Why didn’t she get the magically cooling liquid powder? I just wasn’t impressed and since I’m not a huge beauty powder/loose powder person no need to spend $30 bucks on something I know wasn’t going to get used. I also already have the pigments so no need to get those either.
French Quarter, is described as dirty black green with multi colour pearl. I have this love for grease paint sticks that I just can’t explain. I originally thought this one looked very similar to Dirty gps from the “Art Supplies” collection but, they are indeed different. As ‘”dirty” has a pewter base not green.
Overall, I’m happy with the items I picked up but, I still wish they would have added Ursula and introduced new eyeshadows and lipsticks to represent her. I also wanted the eye shadows in this collection to be more unique which is why I didn’t pick any up. They all seemed dupable or permanent.
So what did you get from this collection?
Are there any loves/regrets? Since I know most of you all have used and played around with this collection already

I got Brash & Bold, Bad Fairy (first MAC lacquer and I hate the formula and brush), both MES, Vainglorious, De-Vil, French Quarter, Resort Life lip gelee, Hot House lip glass, and Violetta.
I got Melon on a recent CCO haul. Score! lol

I got Bite of an Apple and the green mineralized eyeshadow (I can’t remember the name).

The only thing I really wanted was Bite of An Apple. I considered De-vil but once I saw it in the store I felt it was dupeable. Bite of An Apple seems like it wouldn’t work in the pan but on the skin really gives a nice pop of color. I definitely need to buy more coral colored blushes.

I bought Bite of an Apple, Darkly My Dear, Briar Rose and one of the polishes – and took it all back. Another blogger gave me that liquid Powder in Cajun but having tried it – I’m glad I didn’t pay for it now.
This collection just didn’t do it for me.
