MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme: Review, Swatches, Photos

Today MAC introduced Pro Longwear Lipcreme’s to its permenant line up. Available in 12 shades,  Pro Longwear Lipcremes are a marriage of lip stains and amplified cream liptsticks, in my opinion.  They have a lightweight feel and a creamy (slightly slippery) smooth texture. These lip cremes are slated to last 12 hours without transferring, feathering or drying out the lips.

The first thing I noticed about these lip cremes was the packaging. Retaling for $16.oo each, these tubes are slender and very streamline. However, I sure hope MAC doesn’t change the packaging of the regular lipsticks to this because, my one package downfall is the shape of these lip cremes. I like the pointy tip of the lipsticks and these are lacking that. Guess they would be best applied with a brush but, I’m not a lip brush girl so…. i’ll get over it (quickly)

Till Tomorrow - is a cream formula that’s described as a grey-tinted mauve brown. I don’t see the grey in this one but, of the 12 colors available this is the only color that works as a nude for my skintone.  This lip creme also has a hint of rose pink thrown in which is pretty nice.

Page 181 MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme: Review, Swatches, Photos Love Forever – is a cream formula that is described as a bright blue based hot pink. I’m loving this color as it will tie perfectly with the fall trend of bold lips and barely there makeup.

Page 182 MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme: Review, Swatches, Photos Made to last- is a frost formula that is described as deep plum brown. This is a color that I wouldn’t normally reach for as it makes me look a bit older. But when worn with gloss it adds a hint of sexy sophistication that will look great for the office or happy hour lol

Overall, I really like these longwear lipcremes. They apply silky and dry down nicely. A little sticky but not overly sticky. I personally felt a little dryness from these but it was OK . It wasn’t to the point that my lips felt like they were suffocating or anything. I suggest you exfoliate your lips before applying to prevent the product from settling into the lines of your lips and also keep a lip balm , if you want to keep the texture and a lip gloss if you want to amp the color up a bit. Just know that a non-longwear lip balm or glass will cause the lip creme to wear off faster. Speaking of wear, I have had on “Till Tomorrow” since I purchased it earlier today and it has worn off a little but, that’s to be expected since I’ve been snacking and drinking water half the afternoon. The color is still there and if I were going out I would only need to apply a little gloss because the color hasn’t faded off completely.

Checked these out yet? Let’s talk about them in the comments icon smile MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme: Review, Swatches, Photos
