MAC Pro Longwear Foundation & Concealer: Review, Swatches, Photos
Along with the new Pro Longwear Lip Creme’s, MAC also introduced a new foundation and concealer to the permanent line up. For some strange and crazy reason I’m obsessed with buying foundations. From high-end to drugstore brands, I seem buy them all. Only to wear them for a short while and then go right back to my good ole favorites (MAC tinted moisturizer and MSF Natural). Well because of this obsession, it should be no surprise that I picked up these two new additions Pro Long wear foundation and concealer.
MAC claims that these two new products will last for around fifteen hours. Now I have never tried to wear any foundation or concealer for that length of time. But for someone who is/does, these claims should peak there interest. I purchased the foundation in NC50 and the concealer in NC45 (to use as a highlight for my under eye area. The first thing I noticed about these were the feel and texture. Both have a very thick and creamy feel but, when applied is very lightweight and buttery. I also noticed that it didn’t take long to settle and set on the skin. You really have to stick and move with these because, if you don’t they will not budge until you use an oil-based makeup remover.
Now to be honest with you all I don’t think you need to have both the foundation and concealer. As both cover blemishes and imperfections nicely. In my personal opinion if your looking for a light,medium or full coverage choose either or. I myself, would suggest buying the pro long wear concealer and using it all over because it is pigmented enough to be used a foundation. I also strongly suggest when applying either the foundation or concealer to use a bit of fix + to help with blend-ablity because, as I stated earlier when these set they set and won’t budge. Also note that in the bottle these look a hint darker and they may even apply a hint darker but, like magic when it sets it will be a dead on match to your normal foundation shade.
Overall, I’m really liking this foundation and concealer as they don’t transfer onto clothing and they cover the skin very beutifully. My favorite thing about these products is the finish as it is very natural. These two products truly are like second skin and they won’t leave you looking extra oily or dry.

It matches the Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Combo/Oily skin in Caramel. I have both and they look just alike.

everyone is raving about these and if i hadnt just bought MUFE face and body, I’d be all over this! as soon as F&B runs out, i’ll be trying these. since im cheap and poor, i may take your suggestion and just get the concealer and just even it out with MSF

love the pro long wear foundation,and concealer…I have very large pores,some spots and oily/combination skin…This stuff makes my skin look sooo good,and it stays on all day…without transferring onto my clothes or other people..Love Love Love this new foundation,and concealer

I have the foundation, did not want to go across town to get the foundation..
My question is this: the foundation doesnt transfer on clothing but what’s the best powder to use to set the foundation.. I have tried the mineralize powder and well as the blot powder and there is some transfer going on.. just wondering…
