MAC Fabulous Feline Collection: Review, Swatches, Photos

Allow me to introduce you to Mac Cosmetics newly released ” Fabulous Feline”, a collection all about furry little cats. The collection was inspired by the patterns, shades and textures of three pedigreed cats – the chocolate lynx Burmese, leopard-like ginger Ocicat, and aristocratic Russian Blue. And these three felines were translated into three separate but cohesive color stories. Now I’m not really a feline/cat person so I have/had no idea what these different cats looked like. So MAC, thank you for giving me a feline identity lesson. Feline stuff aside, this collection really offers some very nice and appropriate colors for fall and winter.

Out of all the lipsticks available in this collection these are the only two that caught my eyes. Sad right? The others were just blah or dupable. *side bar, the photo does these lip colors no justice*

Cunning, is described as a dark berry however, to me its more of a eggplanty berry color. It applies pretty sheer but, is buildable and has officially been named my fall/winter color of choice.

Aristo-Cat, is described as a mid-tone frosted purple mauve. This color isn’t that special but for some reason I really like it. It also applies sheer but looks really nice when paired with a deep plum lip liner.

Lap of Luxury, is decribed as a dark eggplant with pearl reflects. This lip glass is the perfect compliment to Cunning. It pairs nice and adds that extra little sparkle to the lip color combo.

Best of Breed, is described as dirty light blue with pearl. Now I asked for Jealous lipglass but I guess the mua thought I needed this more lol  Don’t you just hate that? Any way I like this color a lot. I thought it was a perfect match to “Chillin” cremesheen glass that was released with “In The Groove”  collection but, its a tad darker and has a nice shimmer reflect added in. It was make a perfect top coat on bold lip colors I want to tone down a bit. I still want Jealous but, I’m going to keep this one as well

Leopard Luxe Quad, this quad like the others are very dupable. I got this one because I totally passed on the Notoriety quad. In this quad you have : Wild by Nature – mid-tone creamy camel, Notoriety – dirty brown with gold pearl, Style Predator frosty mid-tone yellow orange ( reminds me of cream soda), Furiously Fabulous frosted warm gray black. I was surprised by the color pay off of these shadows. I originally thought that these shadows were going to be super sheer but, three out of the four really impressed me.

Superslick liquid eyeliners are just that super slick, easy to use and long-lasting eyeliners. Now I usually don’t wear eyeliner because I can’t see without my glasses but, these liners are fun and though they are not totally goof proof . They allow for maximum control. They apply in a very watery thin consistency and take a little while to completely dry. Once dried though, they do not more you hear me?

Defiantly Feline is described as a deep brown with reddish gold shimmer. This to me is the liner version of constructivist paint pot.

Marked for Glamour is a dark charcoal gray with a hint of nude reflects thrown in for fun. This is going to be a really nice base for a classic smokey eye.

Overall, I have to tell you all, this collection kind of bored me. There wasn’t any stand out eyeshadows. No make me want to back-up lipsticks or lip glasses and the newly introduced superslick  liquid eyeliners are just OK. I will say that if you are looking for something to try, the eyeliners colors are nice and they truly are long-wearing.
