MAC Alice & Olivia Collection: Review, Swatches, Photos

On July 8th, MAC not only released the highly anticipating “In the Groove” collection. But MAC also released a small but fabulous collection, titled Alice & Olivia. Now for you all that don’t know Alice & Olivia, is fashion line created by Stacy Bendet. Stacey Bendet hit the big scene in 2002 with a collection sold in Barney’s New York.  Now after 8 years and seasons and seasons of fabulous clothing. Alice & Olivia is teaming up with MAC to bring us a fun, quirky and fashionable collection. The MAC Alice & Olivia collection is comprised of three dazzleglass cremes, three pigments and three nail lacquers.

I.Want.Candy – is described as a neon yellow with soft multi-dimensional pearl. This dazzle glass creme is the perfect topper to any color you think is to bold and vibrant. When worn alone it’s cute but, when put on top of a hot pink or red lipstick. It transforms the colors beautifully.

Partylicious – is described as a turquoise with silver pearl. This color is pretty but dupable. As I stare at the swatch I can think of  a few eyeshadows that look similar. When applied wet though, this has a slight metallic effect which is why I’m keeping this one around. lol

So Rich So Pretty – is described as a bright frosty purple with pearl. Now when I first saw this color I instantly thought of NARS “Purple Rain” nail lacquer. The colors looked quiet similar in the bottles but when swatched proved to be different. As So Rich So Pretty is fuschia based and Purple Rain is blue-based.

Overall, I think is collection is cute and flirty. The colors are bold and true attention getters. I also like that the collection was kept small. I just checked the MAC Cosmetics site and sadly most of the products are sold out. So if you haven’t checked this collection out. Run to your local counter or free standing store to see if you can snag a few things before there gone forever.
