L’Oreal Stars Never Fail Infallible Lipcolour: Review, Swatches, Photos

L’oreal Paris recently introduced a star studded collection of  long-wearing lipcolour compacts that were hand picked and named after some of Hollywood’s hottest ladies. The leading ladies include: Beyonce’, Andie MacDowell, Diane Keaton, Eva Longoria-Parker, Kate del Castillo, and Linda Evangelista. L’Oreal infalliable lipcolours claim to last 16 hours and requires only light touch ups with the included lip balm. The packaging is also very clever. No need to carry around two bulky products when you can have them both housed in a double sided mirror compact. How cute!

Now, I’m usually very skeptical of long-wearing lip products. I’ve tried many and they’ve always started out great but never lasted long on my lips or they dried them out so bad that they looked cracked and gross. Well, I must say L’oreal really put some serious time and effort into these lipcolours. The star collection is available in 6 shades and retails for $11.99. And I have to tell you, these to me lead the pack in being true to color, long-wearing and smudge proof.

I had the pleasure of trying out three of the six available colors. The colors and descriptions are as follows:

Beyonce Red, this is a bright in your face cherry red. This red says” Hello world, I’m here and you better take notice”. (Beyonce Knowles-Carter)

Katie’s Plum, is a browny mauve based plum. If that makes sense. This color is going to be perfect for fall and everyday neutral looks. (Kate del Castillo)

Diane’s Tuberose, is a deep rose color. It adds a soft punch to an everyday look. (Diane Keaton)

There are a few rules to follow when wearing these lip colors. 1.) No lip primer needed. Exfoliate and that’s it. I noticed when I applied primer or lip balm the color peeled and didn’t last long at all. 2.) Patience, it will take 2-4 minutes for the lip color to set and dry but, this step is  mandatory can not be rushed. And finally  3.) Don’t skip on the lip balm that’s included! Use the lip balm anytime to keep lips looking refreshed and moisturized. The best part is the lip color doesn’t transfer onto the lip balm and stays put. Seriously!

Overall, I’m loving this product. I haven’t tried wearing these for 16 hours but, I know for a fact that they last well over 5 hours. If your looking for an affordable, long-wearing lip product that can’t be kissed, eaten or wiped off. Look no further.
