January Favorites

At the beginning of the year when I was going over my resolutions. One of my resolutions was to “attempt” to do a monthly favorites post/video. Now i’m going to do my best to see this resolution through. I’m not making any promises but, I’m going to try.

January Favorites:

Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Shampoo & K-Pak Moisture Intense Hydrator – A few weeks ago the lovely Felicia of ThisThatBeauty, did a youtube video discussing her hair care regimen. She also disclosed the products she uses to maintain her tresses. I had been on the hunt for a new shampoo to try and when she raved over how well these products worked. I set a pace and ran out to pick them up.  And lucky me was even able to snag them for a super cost. $9.99 for a four piece kit. OMG! Can I say love! I love the way these products get my hair clean without drying my hair out and the smell is just yummy I’ll be doing an in-depth review soon.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm – I’ve had these forever and never touched them until recently when I ran out of my beloved Neosporin Lip Therapy. Wow, this lip balm is just superb at eliminating flaking and peeling. I also like that it adds a litte shine without looking to glossy.

MAC Constructivist Paint Pot – Why didn’t I have this when it came out? This paint pot is so pretty as a base or alone. And truly gave my lids life in January. I reached for this one a lot, especially when I wanted a quick and simple look. I would apply this color to the lids and add a splash of saddle eyeshadow on the crease and call it a day. This also looks great as a base for dark smokey eyes.

MAC False Lash Mascara- I won’t go in-depth about this product because I plan on doing a full review soon. I will say, that there are only two mascara formulas by MAC that I like and this happens to be one of them. The other is Opulash.

MAC Magenta Lipliner & “Love Forever” pro-longwear lip cream OMG! I reached for this combo so much that I neglected my other bold lip colors. It was all about pink lips in January.

MAC  Strobe Cream, I love to see ladies and gents with luminous and glowy skin. Sadly when I would attempt that look my skin looked a hot mess. Well while in MAC recently I decided to get a sample and try again. Well this time it turned out decent. So much so that I got compliments on my skin and it radiance. Now here is a little tip. If you want to look luminous but not over glowy . Apply a little, just a little along the bridge of your nose and on the tops of your cheeks and blend. It looks beautiful and pearliescent.

Sigma Beauty “Make Me Cool” brush kit, I reviewed them here and, I love to look at these. Aren’t they pretty? They are great quality brushes that are super cute and adorable. I call them my Tiffany’s brushes. lol
