COVERGIRL Lip Perfection Lipstick: Review, Swatches, Photos
July 9, 2011 in Bargin/Drugstore Goodies, Makeup, Product Reviews by Silver Lips 11 comments
Drugstore makeup has come a long way. Even though my first ever experience with lipstick was with MAC Cosmetics. It was drugstore lipsticks that gave me the opportunity to try out different colors and textures. The prices back then were perfect for my high school budget and I had options galore. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, when I indulged in a CVS sale that had all COVERGIRL products on sale for BOGO (buy one get one 50% off). I had read reviews and saw tons of videos on how great these lip perfection lipsticks were but, for me seeing/trying is believing. From that sale I picked up 4 Lip Perfection lipsticks (Fairytale, Impassion, Divine & Bewitch).
COVERGIRL Lip Perfection lipsticks are available in 44 shades, with 4 shade families to choose from, making it easy to find your perfect color. These lipsticks are also packed with tons of silk moisturizers, that claim to help improve lip condition. This new formula is called Silk Moisturizing Complex, which includes olive oil, white tea, shea, avocado, aloe and silk protein. It is said that your lips should improve after 7 days of consecutive use. I have to be honest and tell you that I haven’t worn these lipsticks for 7 days. I do however, feel that these lipsticks are super pigmented, lightweight, very moisturizing and just plain ole pretty. With just one swipe of these lipsticks I got full on color, which was a pleasant surprise.

Now let me warn you, some of the brighter colors stain. Nothing to be scared of but just wanted to FYI you. The stain in my opinion is very subtle and soft. These lipsticks has a slight vanilla plastic smell to them. I don’t like products that smell but, luckily the smell on these goes away pretty fast. My favorite thing about these lipsticks are the packaging. Its super sleek and modern but, most importantly the color and name are on the bottom of each tube, making it super easy to find, especially in my sea of never ending lip products.
Overall, I’m totally impressed with these lipsticks. So much so, I’ve already started to incorporate these into my makeup kit and my personal stash. Retailing for about $6.50 each. These lipsticks are affordable, and readily available at most mass market stores and online.

These lipsticks really surprised me. They’re a bit more expensive here, but I just wait for them to go on sale to pick up.
