CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Foundation CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Foundation: Review, Swatches, Photos CHANEL, a brand that everyone knows for those fabulous interlocking C’s, has just recently launched a new foundation, Perfection Lumiere (which replaces Pro Lumiere). Now for most of you beauty lovers, this information won’t be a big deal. But for me and hundreds of others women of color that weren’t privy to buying Chanel’s foundation, because there wasn’t a color to match us, will be elated.

Perfection Lumiere ($55.00 for 1.oz) is a spf10, long-wearing (fifteen hours they say) and oil-free foundation. Most importantly, Chanel has also expanded on the range of undertones.  They introduced Beige and Beige Rose when Vitalumiere Aqua launched, and with this new launch have added two more undertones: Beige Ambre and Ambre.  F.Y.I., each undertone has five foundation shades. This foundation is light-weight, offers medium coverage and can be layered to offer full coverage. This foundation is is said to be formulated with a “special” technology that creates a ‘second skin’ for the face. It also has special light reflecting pigments and powders that will ‘perfect’ any signs of imperfections so that you can achieve a dewy seamless finish. This foundation is ideal for all-day, everyday wear. It is suitable for all skin types with a diverse range of 20 shades. Yes, you read that right 20 available shades.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation3 CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Foundation: Review, Swatches, Photos foundation is blended all around dollop in the middle. blends nicely right?

Perfection Lumiere, has a nice sleek convenient pump and applies smooth and buttery. I was matched with shade #94 Ambre and have been using this foundation for about a week. 94 Ambre matches very nicely and gives me a gorgeous glow. For reference purposes only I’m NC50 in most MAC foundation and 6.5 in Bobbi Brown. I love how this foundation just feels like skin. I also love that if I want a dewy finish I don’t have to set it or if I want a semi-matte finish I can simply apply a little powder on top without worrying about it not lasting at least eight hours. I haven’t had any break outs from this foundation, even though I HATE the smell.  And sadly that is my only downfall of this foundation. The smell, its loud, very perfumy and doesn’t go away fast.  So if your smell sensitive, you have been warned. The smell does disappear after about two hours of wear and though I don’t like the smell, the look and feel of this foundation out weighed the smell.

Overall, I’m really impressed with this foundation. I love that there are shades available for deeper skin-tones. Now the available shades may not suit very deep-toned persons but,  this is a move in the right direction for Chanel. To learn more about this foundation. head over to Chanel.com or head to your local department store to be color matched. I’ll be posting an FOTD soon with me wearing this foundation.

Little unknown trivia: My middle name is Chanel and I was named after one of my mom’s favorite designers. icon smile CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Foundation: Review, Swatches, Photos
