Barefoot Tess ‘Elizabeth Stud’ Wedge: Review & Photos
Many of you know my plight with shoe companies that don’t cater to us ladies, with (shall I say) larger feet. I have done rants and screamed WHY? to the top of my lungs from disgust that in this day and age my feet can’t look fashionable in certain shoes because it is not offered in my size. I mean, if Louboutin can make up to a size 12 so can everyone else, right?
Well guess what, I was contacted recently to review this brand and company that caters to our demanding needs. Shoes that are stylish, chic, classic, trendy and so much more. I won’t keep you waiting any longer. My new gem site is none other than, Barefoot Tess.
Who is Tess, you ask? Here’s Tess’ description from the website.
“Tess is, in many ways, your typical twentysomething girl. She loves movies, tennis, sushi, her dog Hank and her hometown of Baltimore – and most of all, she loves clothes. Since she can remember, she has spent hours poring over fashion sites and magazines to carefully dissect what designers are showing and celebrities are wearing, and she firmly believes that the thrill one gets from wearing a new dress is the best mood elevator out there.
But Tess had a problem. For years, when she had nearly succeeded in putting together a perfect look – perhaps an outfit that mixed a timeless investment piece with a trendier item or a cheeky vintage find – she found herself getting ‘tripped’ up in the same place: what to do with her woefully, inescapably bare feet. Wearing an 11, she was unable to find shoes in her size that met her aesthetic standards; the suggestions of salespeople to try something in a men’s or comfort style met with her rightful indignation.
Fortunately, Tess refused to settle for these sub-par options and in 2005, she enlisted her mother to help her found Barefoot Tess. Their mission was, and is, to provide the best in footwear – be it a $15 flip-flop or an $800 boot – to large-footed, fashion-conscious women everywhere. Tess’ love of fashion has never been about how much something costs, what size it is or who designed it. It’s about style, and style shouldn’t stop at size 10.”
When you first log onto this website, you are greeted with lovely shoes and an awesome selection. Not only does Barefoot Tess have its own line of shoes. The website also offers shoes from tons of different brands like Jeffrey Campbell, Me Too and Nine West just to name a few. There are easy to use search options for size, brand, and new arrivals that help to make your search for hot shoes, faster and more efficient.
From on trend summer sandals to fly and sexy wedges. The Barefoot Tess brand has some very affordable and stylish shoes that are offered in sizes up to a 15. Yes, I said a 15!
Check out the “Elizabeth Stud Wedge”, this wedge is sold in Taupe and Black for $69.00. This faux suede shoe sports a 1″ platform sole that flows to a 4″ wedge heel with stud detailing on heel and wedge. It is available in medium and wide widths. I choose the taupe color because of its versatility and pizazz. This shoe looks great dressed up or down. It’s very comfortable, thanks in part to the “Fit Tip”. “Fit Tip” is like your personal shoe salesman, it tells you if the shoe runs narrow, wide, long or short. And offers suggestions to help make your purchase fool proof. For the “Elizabeth Stud Wedge”, the “Fit Tip” stated “These shoes run long. Order down a size,” so I ordered this shoe in a size 11 and the tip was pretty spot on. I will say, that though the shoe fits and is very comfortable on me, if you have long toes you may want to order this show in your regular size.
Now because I’m no style expert, I reached out to my dear friend Kerris of Pumps and Gloss blog and co-founder of Style Konfidential, to help me show you how easy this shoe can be styled. Here are two smoking hot outfits to wear with this shoe for work or play.
Overall, I love this website and shoe. Finally!!!! There is an online space with affordable and stylish shoes that actually go above and beyond my shoe size and expectations. Some of you may never understand this, but finding shoes that fit and look great can really be a true chore. But now that I have found Barefoot Tess that chore is no longer difficult to complete. If you are looking for stylish shoes in your size please head over to www.barefootTess.com to take a look at the awesome selection.
